Why did you become a substitute teacher with Kelly Education?
Initially, I chose it because my son started to attend Haines City High School. I stayed because the staff is so welcoming and helpful.
I've been doing it for five years and am always made to feel like I am part of a family. The principal is always including me in events with other faculty and staff. He never made me feel like "just a substitute".
Kelly Education always gave me what I needed to perform well at my job. They prepared me to work full-time through workshop trainings so I knew what to expect inside the classroom.
What do you like most about being a substitute teacher?
I love the atmosphere and children. I enjoy connecting with the students. It's fun to watch them light up when they are learning and understanding.
What advice would you give to new substitute teachers?
I would say that they should come in with the attitude that they are going to change the world. You are here to teach future leaders.
