Kelly Earns 2023 Military Friendly® Employer Designation
Company recognized for its commitment to recruiting and promoting veterans and their spouses
TROY, Mich. (Nov. 11, 2022) – Kelly has earned the 2023 Military Friendly® Employer and Military Friendly® Spouse Employer designations. This marks the eighth year that the workforce solutions provider has been recognized for its commitment to connecting veterans and their spouses to work in ways that enrich their lives.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Employer designations were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than a thousand companies participated in the 2023 survey and 304 received designations.
Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment and educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the military recruitment community. Final ratings combined an organization’s survey score with an assessment of its ability to meet thresholds for applicants, new hire retention, employee turnover, and promotion and advancement of veterans and military employees.
“As a veteran myself, I am proud that Kelly has built a robust support system to provide veterans and their spouses opportunities for personal and professional growth,” says Robert Walker, chair of the Kelly Veteran Affinity Group and military engagement lead at KellyOCG. “Kelly has a longstanding commitment to hiring veterans, because it understands they make excellent candidates for a wide variety of positions in science, engineering, IT, education, manufacturing, and more.”
Kelly has deployed an in-house recruiting program that aligns military experience and traits from veterans, reservists, and military spouses with job opportunities. The company’s Government Solutions Team, which is primarily made up of veterans, dedicates most of its time to recruiting services for veterans and military spouses. The U.S. Military Pipeline Program provides a platform to match candidates with military backgrounds with Kelly customers.
Kelly also partners with military bases, workforce centers, and organizations like the Private Public Partnership, the National Guard Employment Network, and Hiring Our Heroes to connect service members, military spouses, and veterans with employers. In 2021, Kelly hired more than 4,500 veterans to work for clients or as internal employees. Kelly job opportunities tailored to veterans and military spouses can be found at findabetterjob.com.
“Companies earning the Military Friendly Employers® designation create and elevate the standard for military programs across the globe. They have invested in substantive programs to recruit, retain and advance the veterans and service members within their organizations,” said Kayla Lopez, director of military partnerships at Military Friendly®. “To them, hiring veterans and servicemembers is more than just the right thing to do, it makes good business sense.”
Kelly will be showcased along with other 2023 Military Friendly® Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and on MilitaryFriendly.com.
