Green Building Design and Clean Energy
Greener planning for a cleaner planet
Green building design and clean energy represent two ways that Kelly conserves valuable resources. From monitoring improvements in government policy, to smarter land use and site selection, to choosing better building materials—we integrate more environmentally friendly plans and energy-efficient practices where possible to help reduce our current footprint. Below are a number of ways that Kelly is actively promoting green building design and clean energy:
Green Building Design
-
Our Facilities department incorporates a number of practices to protect the environment when designing or renovating facilities, including the use of energy-efficient HVAC systems and lighting.
-
Our Director of Corporate Facilities is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, as designated by the Green Building Certification Institute.
Clean Energy
-
Kelly is a member of the GreenCurrents program through DTE Energy, a utility provider local to our headquarters. Members of GreenCurrents help to preserve the environment and reduce air pollution by supporting renewable energy.
-
Kelly replaces old IT servers and minimizes the overall number of servers we utilize to reduce our consumption of non-renewable energy.
-
Kelly’s lighting systems are integrated into an energy management system.
-
We encourage all employees to turn their computer monitors off after work.
-
We sustain an employee carpooling campaign to conserve gasoline and reduce air-polluting emissions.
